Dear Fellow Americans,
Do you know that one out of every four Americans works directly or indirectly for the American auto industry? A lot of American jobs are riding on this book and hoping that this book can turn around automobile industry and the American economy. We are proud to report today, that this book is not only putting the American auto industry back on track, its positively impacting our nation’s economic growth and stability.
The manufacturing move-out in this country is not by chance – it is by choice and a by-product of the political agenda that has driven our country for decades. In the New York Times article on Saturday, July 29th, it clearly stated that ‘China Rules.’ He who manufactures rules the world. We Americans started it, but gave it away for cheap labor and greed. And the looming recession we are facing as a nation, is also not by chance.
Clifton Lambreth, author of the new Ford book - FORD AND THE AMERICAN DREAM: Founded on Right Decisions, a 23-year plus veteran of the Ford Motor Company, is one of many American workers whose lively-hood and ability to take care of their family is dependent on a manufacturing based company.
Instead of waiting for a layoff or job export, Lambreth marched to the beat of a different drummer. After years of no one listening to him and his fellow employees inside the Ford Motor Company, Lambreth blew the lid off when he decided to risk being fired by writing the true Ford story that’s never been told and offering the company and the automotive industry a re-structuring plan to save Ford, the American automobile industry and the American Dream.
The loss of revenue at the Ford Motor Company didn’t happen by chance but rather as a result of many wrong turns. Previous Ford leaders had not established a fool proof succession plan and as a result, the company was abandoned, as Lambreth demonstrates in the new Ford book. Lambreth hit the nail on the head, scrutinizing company diversity policies gone wild, over engineering practices and a collapse of compensation systems, and outlines a clear plan for re-structuring.
Lambreth knew it was a real possibility he could be fired. He had sent Ford’s CEO – Alan Mulally the first copy of the book, right off the press. Then the phone call came from headquarters – it was Mulally himself who thanked Lambreth for ‘having the courage to write the book and called it the ‘best turnaround strategy he had ever read!’ He invited Lambreth to meet him for lunch at the Fairlane Manor – once the home of Henry Ford – and also significant setting in the business novel.
Lambreth was one of the many unheard voices at Ford and in companies across the board, suffering from the bad decisions of upper management who relish in their high salaries and perks that insolate them from the reality and isolate them from the effects.
Lee Iacocca praised the Ford book – ‘I loved the read and appreciated you using my quote about Henry Ford. I still stand by what I said!’ And most compelling are the letters of validation and hope pouring in from long time Ford employees and dealers, some of those who had known Henry Ford himself, and from workers in other industry sectors across the country.
We believe that every single American will connect with Clifton Lambreth who is the book’s hero Christopher Hope, and be encouraged by his courage and determination to see a way out of what seems to be a dying dream.
Networks are interviewing dozens by the score – self-acclaimed experts of the automobile industry and the economy – business leaders, politicians and authors but they cannot get a grasp of what has happened, is happening and will happen. They are lost and picking at straws. They need to listen to Lambreth and hear what he has to say. If his story and turnaround plan for the American economy and the auto industry is good enough for Alan Mulally the CEO of Ford and for the Ford Motor Company – who is listening and implementing the book’s plan in their turnaround process to date, and with marked success, then the media has a responsibility to listen and share it with every single American. This book echoes the voices and conscience of Americans across the nation. It’s time for the media to stop playing favoritism and start listening to real, every day Americans, who are in the know – the real live experts who live the dream and who are making a difference with their lives. The spirit of Henry Ford lives in the hearts of every American, and he has returned to set the record straight and get us back on track.
Thank you for standing up for the truth, for your ethics and servant leadership, and outstanding contributions to our great nation, but most of all, for doing the right thing!
Sincerely,
Mary Calia

Ford and the American Dream:
Founded On Right Decisions
By Clifton Lambreth
with Mary Calia, Melissa Webb and Patrick Doyle
Ford and the American Dream is the Ford story that’s never been told! After the threat of the potential bankruptcy of the Ford Motor Company surfaced in December 2006, Ford Motor Company insider Clifton Lambreth decided to set about the task of recording in the form of a book the events and decisions that led to that crisis. The threats facing the company have the potential to destroy tens of thousands of employees’ and dealers’ livelihoods. It is not a single, isolated corporate incident but a representation of the American Dream eroding daily.
As a twenty-plus-year veteran of the Ford Motor Company, Lambreth is in the unique position of being able to give—with an unfiltered frankness and transparency—an interesting perspective on much that has transpired during his tenure.
Most of the lessons communicated in Ford and the American Dream are universally applicable to other companies as well as those in the automobile industry. There are many land mines to avoid so other companies don’t find themselves in the same predicament the Ford Motor Company is in today. In this accurate and truthful account, the novel begins with Chapter 11 (symbolic of the Ford Motor Company’s present plight on the edge of Chapter 11 bankruptcy) and concludes with Ford’s return to greatness.
